This module introduces the Social Responsibility pillar of the C.A.F.E. Practices Standard and the principles of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD). It explains stakeholder roles and how identifying risks, taking preventive action, and continuous improvement strengthen labor conditions.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will:

  • Understand the purpose and scope of the Social Responsibility pillar in the C.A.F.E. Practices Standard.
  • Be able to recognize the roles each stakeholder has in upholding Social Responsibility requirements.
  • Be able to identify risks, take preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement in labor conditions.
  • Understand the principles of a due diligence approach, and how the C.A.F.E. Practices Standard, management systems, and verification processes contribute to it, as well as the roles and responsibilities of suppliers and other supply chain actors.
